Maps break down our inhibitions, stimulate our glands, stir our imagination, loosen our tongues. The map speaks across the barriers of language; it is sometimes claimed as the language of geography.

 Maps are representations of the earth’s surface and present key facts of geography. In some cases, maps can even be art. Maps can be used to find locations, where people live, geographical features such as rivers, oceans, mountain, and other information. In this section are Florida maps from the collection of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County.
