Seminole Chief Chachi first resident known by name in county. His village was located near what is now Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and I-95 in West Palm Beach. Soldiers camp on freshwater lake and name it Lake Worth in honor of Colonel William Jenkins Worth, who ends Second Seminole War. |
