Daniel Hendrix becomes the first African American elected to the Palm Beach County School Board.

1972

Palm Beach County commissioners approve the first planned unit development for the 7,400-acre tract that will become the Village of Wellington.

1973

Federal judge rules that Palm Beach County schools are integrated.

1976

Interstate 95 is completed between Palm Beach Gardens and Miami.
